Tuesday 10th October – Windsurf *** The Manor at Felixstowe – sunny periods and warm.

Foil – 17.84 knot max, 17.08 knot ave, 9.31 knot hour, 16.50 knot mile, 43.25 km., 11.30 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Sailworks Retro 7.5.

The fantastic Autumn weather continues with another warm and sunny day with enough breeze for a foil forecast, with light winds in the morning I had time to do my exercises in the back garden. Then I messaged Ian to say I was heading down to check out the conditions at The Manor arriving at the beach at one. I managed to park at Squiz Lane and the breeze looked marginal but it was such a nice day I decided to give it a try and set up my foil board and was then joined by Ian who also decided to sail, he was rigging his 6.4 which means I needed my 7.5, not my favourite size as prefer something smaller. Launching around 1.30 with the wind looking pretty light but with some vigerous pumping I managed to get flying and then had some mega long 2.50 mile runs out to the shiping channel in super smooth sea, just lovely. Gybing the big sail is definatly harder and I had to wait for a gust, then run the board down a wave and pump hard to fly but once going it was brilliant! The highlight of the session was a large seal out by Wadgate post and sailing in the smooth sea in the warm sunshine. Looks like more wind tomorrow but with a 10.30 high water at the moment I am not sure where to sail, it would be nice a have a session on the fin board but it might be a little off at Felixstowe so will have to wait and see?
